From a one-man operation in a home office to an award-winning company with 40 employees, Chris Day has brought Fully Managed a long way since opening its doors in 2002.
“When I started my business I wanted to make a difference. I wanted to do things differently than how they were traditionally done in my industry,” says Chris.
His goal was to show organizations that investing in technology would enable their businesses to grow and succeed. Fully Managed delivers IT support, management, consulting and cloud and voice services.
By all accounts his hard work is paying off. A small business in B.C. is considered to be one with fewer than 50 employees. There 382,200 of them in the province, providing 45 per cent of all jobs across all sectors.
At the rate Fully Managed is growing it won’t be a small business for long.
“I love the excitement of seeing things grow. It’s great to be part of it,” says Chris.
Recently the company was named Best Employer at the 11th Annual Small Business BC Awards, confirming Fully Managed is on the right track. “It demonstrates that what we set out to achieve as a brand many years ago is now our reality,” says Chris.
Fully Managed invests in their employees and takes great interest in helping them achieve their goals.
Chris remains true to his brand’s purpose of ‘creating peace of mind’. What keeps things on track is the company’s clearly defined core values: “inspiring our people, fanatical service, absolute accountability and passion for technology.”
This focus is one reason Fully Managed is “attracting and retaining the right people to be able to deliver incredible value and an amazing experience to our clients,” says Chris.
He isn’t done yet. In the next five years he sees growing Fully Managed from 40 employees to a company of 150 with offices across Canada. And earlier this year he founded his second venture, IT Glue a new software-as-a-service business.
In fact, it sounds like he’s just getting started.
